| Over the past two years, courts have ruled on a wide array of challenges to the rules and regulations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). These rulings have addressed matters including: the racial impact of NCAA initial eligibility rules, the applicability of Title IX to the NCAA, and the alleged anticompetitive effect of NCAA rules and regulations that fix compensation and determine the manner in which athletic contests are conducted. Presenters will examine these judicial decisions and assess their potential to alter the NCAA's role in governing intercollegiate athletics. |
