| Few topics in banking regulation have been as controversial over recent years as the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). Financial reform legislation during the last congressional session was nearly derailed because of disputes over CRA. Some legal scholars call for repeal of this statute; others advocate strengthening it; and still others recommend reforms of various sorts. This session asks the question: "CRA: Where to Now?" It will bring together prominent academic commentators and important members of banking committee staffs who played a role in the recent legislative controversy. |
